The Tobacco Farm Life Museum, part of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, is hosting the State Archives of North Carolina’s One Day Wonder exhibit “To Preserve the Blessings of Liberty: State Constitutions of North Carolina”

This one day only exhibit will feature copies of the 1776 State Constitution and Declaration of Rights, the 1868 State Constitution, and a letter from John Adams known as “Thoughts on Government.” The exhibit will examine the state’s founding documents along with key amendments that reshaped political participation throughout the state’s history.

This one-day exhibit is coinciding with the traveling exhibit “When Are We Us?” that is currently on display at the museum through Saturday, March 14.  Both exhibits are part of America 250 NC.
