Monthly Meeting
SDJC will have a matinee showing of Black Honey - A Documentary by Char Vinar of Clayton and President of the Neuse River Writers. “Black Honey” is a true-life drama that tells the author’s story of losing her only daughter to addiction, having cancer, getting divorced and losing both parents within eight months of each other, all in four years, and how she survived, rebuilt her life all on her own and rose above it all to find a whole new purpose. The film explores themes of addiction, grief, depression, betrayal, and survival, as well as triumph and thriving despite what life has thrown her way, and promises to offer audiences a unique perspective on rising above life’s tragedies and reclaiming the pieces of yourself lost along the way.
Bring your own lunch and gather for social time at 12 noon and the meeting begins at 1:00 pm JCDP Smithfield Office 1302 W. Market Street.
